About
Dr. Sheree Wen has spent her career building things that didn't exist yet — and then leading the institutions that govern them. She earned her PhD in Engineering, Physics, and Statistics from UC Berkeley and joined IBM, where she contributed to the development of the company's first high-speed mainframe processors and held senior management roles spanning corporate technical strategy, worldwide manufacturing, corporate quality, and university research grants. She left IBM to found Wen Technology Corporation, building manufacturing operations across the United States and Asia and delivering products under IBM, AT&T, Unisys, and Wen brand labels. Her work has earned 20+ U.S. patents, the AIME Gold Medal and Young Scientist of the Year Award, the U.S. Small Business Administration "Excellence" Award, and the NASA 5-Star Quality Award. Today, Dr. Wen chairs the IEEE Seattle Section (5,000+ members), founded and leads UNESCO Washington State Center, serves on the Seattle International Film Festival board, and sits on the Medina City Council where she previously served as Deputy Mayor.
